TITO LLEGA A DOMINICA
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO.14 DE JULIO DE 2012
Cercana a las 5 de la mañana Alberto de Jesús, conocido alrededor del mundo como Tito Kayak comenzó el tramo de la Gesta Admirable por la ex cancelación de Oscar López Rivera. Tito partió de una playa al noroeste de la isla de Martinica rumbo a Dominica, donde Tito continúa con la gesta humanitaria para informar a las comunidades del Caribe sobre el caso del prisionero político puertorriqueño Oscar López Rivera. Hace apenas unas horas Alberto de Jesús Tito Kayak acaba de arribar a la isla de Dominica en el poblado de Potterville, Rosseau capital de Dominica. Allí un grupo de vecinos les recibieron y apoyaron a custodiar el Kayak. A su arribo el líder indígena Charles Williams de la comunidad Caribe KALINAGO le acompaño hasta el territorio Caribe al noreste de la isla donde Tito y el equipo de avanzada pasaran la noche. La Travesía Admirable por Oscar López Rivera continúa por el archipielago de las Antillas Menores, ruta recorrida por nuestros ancestros. Hasta el momento Tito ha recorrido alrededor de unas 500 millas náuticas de las 1,100 que se ha propuesto recorrer hasta PUERTO RICO. Una vez llegue a Puerto Rico se evaluara la posibilidad de continuar hasta la Republica Dominicana, Haití, Cuba, y luego a los Estados Unidos y luego a Washington.
La Travesía Admirables es una de los muchos esfuerzos realizados por los puertorriqueños y colaboradores internacionales para traer el fin del encarcelamiento de Oscar López Rivera por 31 años. Esta noche se celebra en Nueva York un evento de recaudación de fondos, mientras en la isla jóvenes ciclistas de Puerto Rico se preparan para viajar a Florida donde se unirán con otros ciclistas hacia Washington en la búsqueda de la misma petición, OSCAR LOPEZ LIBRE YA!.

Amongst the efforts in Dominica Tito and the advance team will spend a night at Kalinago, the largest Caribbean indigenous reservation. The “Admirable Quest for Oscar Lopez Rivera” is following the northwester arch of the Antilles archipelago, centuries ago traveled from what today is known as Venezuela when populating the Caribbean islands. Tito Kayak will row the estimated 1,100 martime miles to Puerto Rico where once there will evaluate the possibility of continuing on to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba and on to the U.S. and on to Washington D.C.Oscar Lopez Rivera, a U.S. Political Prisoner and the longest incarcerated pro Puerto Rican Independence freedom fighter in the 114 year struggle against United States colonial domination of the island nation,
The Admirable Quest for Oscar Lopez Rivera” is one of many efforts being undertaken by Puerto Rican people and international supporters to bring to an end the more than 31 years of imprisonment served by the 68 years old Patriot who served honorably and was decorated as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. Oscars political transformation took place following his wartime experience and in returning to the horrendous plight of the Puerto Rican community in the U.S.
Tonight a mayor fundraiser is being held in New York City. Meanwhile, young cyclists from Puerto Rico make preparations to travel to Florida where they will be joined by others to pedal to Washington D.C. in pursuit of the same quest
